Cyber Inference System for Substation Anomalies Against Alter-and-Hide Attacks
Alarms reported to energy control centers are an indication of abnormal events caused by either weather interruptions, system errors, or possibly intentional anomalies. Although these initiating events are random, e.g., faults on transmission lines struck by lightning, the existence of electronically altered measurements may implicate the process to identify root causes of abnormal events. This paper is concerned with alter-andhide (AaH) attacks by tampering the actual measurements to normal states with the background of disruptive switching actions that hide the true values of local events from operators at the control center. A cyber inference system (CyIS) framework is proposed to synthesize all sequential, missing, or altered alarms of related substations against AaH attacks. The stochastic nature of such attack events is modeled with probabilities as an integer programming problem with multiple scenarios. Uncertainty-weighted Multi-tasking for and T Mapping in the Liver with Self-supervised Learning
Multi-parametric mapping of MRI relaxations in liver has the potential of
revealing pathological information of the liver. A self-supervised learning
based multi-parametric mapping method is proposed to map T and T
simultaneously, by utilising the relaxation constraint in the learning process.
Data noise of different mapping tasks is utilised to make the model
uncertainty-aware, which adaptively weight different mapping tasks during
learning. The method was examined on a dataset of 51 patients with
non-alcoholic fatter liver disease. Results showed that the proposed method can
produce comparable parametric maps to the traditional multi-contrast pixel wise
fitting method, with a reduced number of images and less computation time. The
uncertainty weighting also improves the model performance. It has the potential
of accelerating MRI quantitative imaging

Design and Performance of a Pilot Scale High-Gradient Magnetic Filter Using a Mandhala Magnet and Its Application for Soy-Whey Protein Purification
The scalability of economic high-gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) technology is essential in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the concept. One of the means is the application of a permanent magnet with a hollow cylindrical volume made from identical magnetic blocks (e.g., Mandhala), another is the development of a High-Gradient Magnetic Filter (HGMF) with a new backwashing concept. The Mandhala (Magnetic Arrangement for Novel Discrete Halbach Layout) magnet produces a dipolar transversal magnetic field in the center of the bore and its usable volume is easily adaptable to the separation device\u27s extensions. The chapter presents the pilot scale design of the Mandhala magnet and the HGMF as well as experimental performance tests using a water-magnetic beads model system. Subsequently, experiments using soy-whey as a real feedstock demonstrate the purification of the protein Bowman-Birk inhibitor (BBI), an agent against cancer and multiples sclerosis
Repair Wind Field of Oil Spill Regional Using SAR Data
In this paper, we compared the normalized radar cross section (NRCS) of the synthetic aperture radar in the cases of oil spill and clean sea areas with image samples and determined their thresholds of the NRCS of SAR. we used the NRCS of clean water from the adjacent patches spill area to replace NRCS of oil spill area and retrieval wind field by CMOD5.N and comparison of wind velocity mending of oil spill with Model data the root mean square of wind speed and wind direction inversion are 0.89m/s and 20.26 satisfactory results, respectively. Therefore, after the occurrence not large scale oil spill, the real wind field could be restored by this method. 
An improved observable for the forward-backward asymmetry in B -> K* l+ l- and Bs -> phi l+ l-
We study the decay B -> K* l+ l- in the QCD factorization approach and
propose a new integrated observable whose dependence on the form factors is
almost negligible, consequently the non--perturbative error is significantly
reduced and indeed its overall theoretical error is dominated by perturbative
scale uncertainties. The new observable we propose is the ratio between the
integrated forward--backward asymmetry in the [4,6] GeV^2 and [1,4] GeV^2
dilepton invariant mass bins. This new observable is particularly interesting
because, when compared to the location of the zero of the FBA spectrum, it is
experimentally easier to measure and its theoretical uncertainties are almost
as small; moreover it displays a very strong dependence on the phase of the
Wilson coefficient C_10 that is otherwise only accessible through complicated
CP violating asymmetries. We illustrate the new physics sensitivity of this
observable within the context of few extensions of the Standard Model, namely
the SM with four generations, an MSSM with non--vanishing source of flavor
changing neutral currents in the down squark sector and a Z' model with tree

Interleukin-17D and Nrf2 mediate initial innate immune cell recruitment and restrict MCMV infection.
Innate immune cells quickly infiltrate the site of pathogen entry and not only stave off infection but also initiate antigen presentation and promote adaptive immunity. The recruitment of innate leukocytes has been well studied in the context of extracellular bacterial and fungal infection but less during viral infections. We have recently shown that the understudied cytokine Interleukin (IL)-17D can mediate neutrophil, natural killer (NK) cell and monocyte infiltration in sterile inflammation and cancer. Herein, we show that early immune cell accumulation at the peritoneal site of infection by mouse cytomegalovirus (MCMV) is mediated by IL-17D. Mice deficient in IL-17D or the transcription factor Nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 (Nrf2), an inducer of IL-17D, featured an early decreased number of innate immune cells at the point of viral entry and were more susceptible to MCMV infection. Interestingly, we were able to artificially induce innate leukocyte infiltration by applying the Nrf2 activator tert-butylhydroquinone (tBHQ), which rendered mice less susceptible to MCMV infection. Our results implicate the Nrf2/IL-17D axis as a sensor of viral infection and suggest therapeutic benefit in boosting this pathway to promote innate antiviral responses
Mitochondria and neuroplasticity
The production of neurons from neural progenitor cells, the growth of axons and dendrites and the formation and reorganization of synapses are examples of neuroplasticity. These processes are regulated by cell-autonomous and intercellular (paracrine and endocrine) programs that mediate responses of neural cells to environmental input. Mitochondria are highly mobile and move within and between subcellular compartments involved in neuroplasticity (synaptic terminals, dendrites, cell body and the axon). By generating energy (ATP and NAD+), and regulating subcellular Ca2+ and redox homoeostasis, mitochondria may play important roles in controlling fundamental processes in neuroplasticity, including neural differentiation, neurite outgrowth, neurotransmitter release and dendritic remodelling. Particularly intriguing is emerging data suggesting that mitochondria emit molecular signals (e.g. reactive oxygen species, proteins and lipid mediators) that can act locally or travel to distant targets including the nucleus. Disturbances in mitochondrial functions and signalling may play roles in impaired neuroplasticity and neuronal degeneration in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, psychiatric disorders and stroke
